Open Start > Settings > Apps > Apps & features Scroll down to Minecraft Select it Click Advanced options Click Reset Restart Check the Store for updates If that does not work… download the following utility and use it to remove Minecraft: extract it, launch it, scroll through the list, select Minecraft then click Remove.

Ok, so I got up this morning to updating my minecraft to 1.3.1 (w00t) and my minecraft wouldn’t update. I chose force update, I checked to see that I was connected to the internet, logged in, etc. I’ve troobleshooted a lot, and it still isn’t working.

And I’m running the Minecraft.exe at the top of the downloads section on the main site. Oh. I included a download in my above post. MinecraftSP.exe. It’s an auto updater. Download and run that check “Force Update” and let it do it’s thang. Then you can wont have to keep downloading the new .exe, just launching and forcing the update.
